Drive belt tensioner

Postby iiyama » Fri Nov 02, 2007 4:12 pm

hi peeps!
The tensioner pulley lost its bearing the other day in my 2L petrol MK5 W reg and after a bit if a battle with Hendy i got the part, (96WF-6A228AA). However I have a problem, I cannot move the damn thing, its like its welded together or something. The old one moves if I pull it hard enough but this one is immovable.

Any ideas? Am I being a numpty? Help!!!

Thanks!
Ian

swinging tensioner? it's probably got a locking pin inserted in it which needs to be removed

no locking pin on that

are you trying to move it while it's not fitted to the van? - the springs on these are very strong and you won't swing it unless it's anchored to the engine
