Whats the torque for my 6 stud wheels on my mk5? Haynes reckons 124 ft/lbs but my wheelnuts undo themselves when done to that... i just do em up as tight as I can with the wheel brace now

Does that torque (183Nm) apply even to older twin wheelers like my 1986 MK3? I haven't got any instruction book OR Haynes/Clymer/Autoinfo workshop manual for it yet.

My mk5 chassis cab is the same so I just tighten them until they grown out loud :P
Haven’t bothered to use the torque wrench but my front passenger side wheel still every 2 or 3 months tends to loosen itself
Must check some day if I remember what torque they are on at, I use a 3/4 drive 1 meter breaker bar and make the nuts cry then I know they are tight
It’s not something I normally would do to car wheel nuts because they can fail with over tightening but they are pretty heavy duty studs on a mk5 and they do come lose sometimes so I just crack them big time
