Thermostat housing to block seal/water leaking ~ how/tips?

Postby thehangmen » Fri Sep 26, 2008 12:56 pm

Got water leaking out of the thermostat housing joint to the block, (presumably it's that, black plastic top/front of engine?).

Any recommendations on how to seal it up again, it looks like some white silicone type sealant is in there at the moment?

plastic one has an oring between housing and head, 2 bolts out, housing off, clean up surfaces, new oring and back together

dont do the bolts too tight cus the housing will break
