HI

Please can you tell me the total weight of a Transit van 8S T280 as it would be empty.

Thanks

Roughly, the max gross weight is 2800kg, the payload is roughly 1000kg so an empty van weighs roughly 1700-1800kg :)

That would be about right, as I took mine on a weighbridge last week, and it weighed "empty" 1920kg. It does have 6 more seats than a van though :D

If you are thinking of the current model, you can view the official Ford figures here, although the brochures are from April 2008 so they don't fully reflect current production:

i have a question sort of related to this topic,
i was wondering since the vans weight is ~2000kg does that mean i can drive one with a standard N.I. driving licence, i.e. the section on the licence that says "passenger vehicles with up to 8 passengers and below 3500kg"

im renting a van to help with a move on monday and im starting to get a little worried

Yes a transit 260 has a max gross weight of 2600kg so you should be ok :)
