Postby hazza » Wed Oct 14, 2009 1:39 pm

hi folk looking for a little advice i just recently got myself a ford transit :)

when i got the van none of the dials were workin the speedo, the temp gauge and the fuel gauge"
i messed around with some fuses and got the fuel gauge and the temp gauge working again but the speedometer is still not working

is there anything that i should look out for 1st before spending money on new parts
iv tryed looking for any broken wires under the bonnet nat the gear box but to be honest im not sure what im looking for ?
i have looked around your site at other posts but nothigng relivent to my problem
any advice would be very much apreciated
thanks in advance

cant see anything wrong with them i also checked the back of the clock incase there was a split in the board for the clock s but none there

i bought the van with this fault none of the gauges worked at all the temp gauge fuel gauge and speedo after i checked the fuses and replaced 1 the temp gauge and the fuel gauge started to work again but no speedo ? :(

ok that was just a suggestion it could be the module that sits on tne gearbox and converts the motion into electronic signals.

Have a look at wiring from the speed sensor at back of gearbox (nr propshaft),think there are 3 wires coming out of it,trace them from gearbox looking for rubbing/damage.
