Retrofit Trip Comp & Adjustable Intermittant - Possible ??

Postby poormansporsche » Mon Dec 21, 2009 11:50 pm

alright peeps,

2 Part Post !

Firstly, ive got a replacement speedo cluster on the way with trip computer (my old one hasnt got one) - to get it working is there anything else required other than cluster swap and indicator stalk swap - im assuming ive got the wiring as there are 2 looms going to the back of the cluster - are there any extra relays et al required or is it not compatible full stop

secondly - ive got a spare mondeo stalk sitting here with adjustable intermittant wipe which looks pretty much identical to the original connect stalk (with the adjuster obviously) - is it possible to fit and make work ? - on the mondeo it was just a case of bunging on and putting a relay in the fusebox - is this possible on the connect ????

cheers

Brett

well ive bunged on the stalk and everything works apart from the adjustable intermittant bit - so if anyones got any ideas it would be appreciated - although I seem to remember on the ole vectra B i once had it required some form of soldering somewhere in the colomn ??

Did you put the intermittant relay in ? Think it is on here somewhere on another post, but they had to run another wire from the stalk to the relay or summit like that!!

havent bunged the relay in, got to find out what relay and where it goes - funnily enough I have noticed there is a wire going from one side of the stalk to the other ??

Back to the first part about the trip computer - is there supposed to be a "brain" somewhere or is it part of the ECU ????

You will need to put the relay in like... turn them on and listen to see which relay clicks, then swap it. post your results cos its a mod am wanting to do :D
