Mk1 LWB twin wheel diesel (bull nose) panel, twin rear doors

Postby Harry_Hill » Thu May 27, 2010 11:01 pm

WANTED: RHD Mk1 LWB twin wheel diesel (bull nose) panel van with twin rear doors.

Appreciate I'm being very particular, but its for a specific replica project, so must be this type of van.

Prefer tax exempt, but not vital. Ideal candidate would be red or white (again not vital), but I am after a complete and running van. MOT would be a real bonus.

If you know of one, please PM me. Cheers!

Many thanks for the replies gents. I have considered importing a firevan, but most seem to have the lift up rear door, not the barn doors, plus there's the hassle of the conversion and nose swap, so would rather hold off and see if I can get a RHD one first.

Know they are rocking horse poo, very annoyingly missed out on the perfect example on ebay a few months back (was bought privately instead of on ebay - so much for bidding). If you spot something, let me know!

Thanks again.

harry hill i am sorry we dont ,it came up around a year ago with a v6 then this year with a diesel engine fitted ,but the photo,s were still the orginal from the previous year
but it sold off of ebay as far as i know ,it looked very very cleen tho and a genuine van
you would be better off buying a firevan ,convert it useing a old camper with back doors and this will give you all the bitts you need plus no rust

i still have one that´s actually wanted buy a guy from Wales who collected a MK2 Escort last year. as he doesn t answer the phone i ll put it up for sale again. as engine upgrades are not allowed in my country i only could use it with the weak, lot of fuel drinking German 1700 V4.the van is bodywise very sound and has only done 30.000km´s but it has one very big disadvantage:

it´s German built which means it´s "GERMAN QUALITY (=synonym for rubbish)" as well .

as most will know Germans were never the ones to build stuff that lasts very long, that´s why it has broken valve gear and has to be collected on a trailer (680 miles from Dover). gbp 1.200 ono will buy it, if you are interested please pm me.
