Vehicle Carrying Weight Capacity

Postby workinprogress » Mon Aug 30, 2010 4:26 pm

Hello everyone, new to the forum. Thought I'd join up as I've just got a '55 plate Transit car transporter, T350 90.

I'm curious regarding the weight the vehicle can transport, it has the following weights on the VIN plate, passenger side B pillar: -

3500Kg
5750Kg
1600Kg
2450Kg

Can anyone shed some light on what these mean?

Cheers

3500KGS GVW
5750KGS GTW
not sure about the other weights

GVW is the total weight including the truck and anything on it
GTW is the total weight including towing.

what you need to do is fill up with fuel put everything you normally carry on the truck take it to your local weighbridge whatever it comes up with minus it off 3500KGS then you will get how much you can carry.

Cheers guys! So 3500Kg would be the maximum weight it could be including the weight of the truck and the car it's transporting?

Including the weight of the driver as well - in fact ...... EVERYTHING

If unsure if it is overweight then you can legally drive directly to the nearest weighbridge (client must pay) and if overweight then you can legally drive directly back to where it was loaded to have it sorted out.
