Hi all, got a frozen engine 03 diesel, had a coolant leak and was filling up with water, van was sitting 4 days no useage and weather hit -8, I went to start it and she wouldn't fire.
I defrosted the pipes I could get to and got the jump leads out, but still wouldn't go.
The starter is trying to go but engine not kicking in.
Got the aa out and after trying to jump with his battery he said the timing belt has snapped( spent 2 mins at the van and didn't take anything off to look).
Could the water pump be jammed frozen too?
My mechanic mate says to let it thaw right out and try it again as there is no timing belt on these, its a timing chain and they very rarely snap.
The engine hasn't started at any time since the freeze and was working fine beforehand.
Any advice please, Cheers.
