what type of oil to use

I need to top up the rear axle and gearbox on my 56 mk7 140ps 6speed jumbo can someone tell me the correct oil to use in both please
MK7 2006, 2.4 tdci, 140ps + TUNIT box = 165ps jumbo rwd known as "Big Blue" to the kids.

gearbox oil is 75w90 oil ford part no 1045737 and diff oil is 75w140 high performance oil

Hi Taz thanks for the reply can you tell me if they are semi or full synthetic i only need to top them up and dont want to mix.

i think they are semi synthetic, if u get them from ford they will be correct and u wont have to worry, i think the castrol alternative is called syntrax universal

Ford quoted £27.16 for 1l of axle oil + vat and £14.90 for 1l gearbox oil + vat but wouldnt give me the specks seems expensive to me.

yeah unfortunatly the oil is expensive but ford use it to try and stem the diff failure rate, its a shame u live far away ive got some diff oil spare under my bench at work :D

Thats allways the way, thanks tax i apreciate the offer i have found a good site that gives lots of different choices i will be putting it on the forum as they were very helpfull and a good price with very usefull help and info, thanks again for the offer. :D
