Postby jones1happyvan » Thu Feb 03, 2011 3:44 pm

Check it out - have started so we'll have to finish! Uncovered v bad fibreglass and filler, now looking for left wing top, scuttle, and windscreen rubber, door window rubbers, anything else useful for the cab! It's gonna be OK... :?

Superb camper - da iawn! :D

Spooky though, as I'm also an R Jones with a MK1 :o

So looking forward to seeing your progress.

What are your plans for the interior - it's that time of year when I'm daydreaming about painting cupboards in the Springtime

I turned my van ('Big Liz') white with blue cupboard doors 8) (well, I like them).

Wow GORGEOUS van! I think mine will be a bit more" life on mars" original 70s ie a lot of brown! But at the moment is a bit like a rustY doily so cushions and curtains long way off! Your photos are inspirational though, keeping me motivated! Am determoned to be out an about in it by April!

Superb 8)

I'm really liking this van, especially the fibreglass skirt on the back - very clean indeed.

Nice door cards as well

I'm so jealous about your floor mat and wheel arch covers but you've given me the inspiration now to go off and start scrubbing the camper body to get it as clean as yours :D

It would be so cool to see your van and Chris's at the same time next to each other 8)

Looking excellent mate!

You've got the best colour/camper-body combo!!!!!!! (although I might be a bit biased)

I got a few body parts from a SHARK in Scotland (not very pleased AT ALL, ripped off big time) but then got Elite http://www.elite-panelcraft.co.uk/ involved who put together bits and pieces - welded half of scuttle & bonnet together and made new top passengerbside wing from scratch. The bloke at Elite who dug out the rust and rebuilt the cab is called Darren Wigfield which is why the van is now called Van Wigfield. I play in a band and work in arts education and can't bend metal - but they did a brilliant job! The back of the van was pretty much intact and original, but filthy, so my job has been mainly cleaning up and sourcing parts. I've been told I am "a very lucky lady" re wheel arches / underneath - the van has been kept under cover and taxed / motd/ used regularly all its life apart from last couple of years.
Looking forward to introducing it to MK1Chris!
