You really need to get the codes read to find out why the fault light is flashing :|

Thanks for the previous replies to my post,i had the fault code read it's a p0251 which apparently is the pump and/or the injectors,
the advice i've had is to check fuel filter for metal if clear good news :) if not then the pumps done for :( would this info be right?
also to have injectors pressure tested would be £15 a pop,and then £95 per recon if needed, does this sound about right?

It is a pump problem, but I think it's repairable :|

same problem bob i have a 04 reg exactly the same as yours, have had injectors checked ,replaced one of them, fuel sensor changed and new accelertor changed, had pump checked but still does it,mechanic thinks it maybe a wiring problem, also have been told its a ford problem but they didnt want to call them back in,not sure how true this but looking online at different forums it seems a bit suspect as theres a lot of owners with our problem????????????????

Change the fuel filter.
I've had this on my van and 2 focus's
I was told the fuel delivery pressure was affected by a blocked filter and it gave pump, injector fault codes.

Cured mine never had problem since.
Filter £20, worth trying first. Takes 10 mins to change

Only trying to help, i'm not an expert.

I changed the filter a few weeks ago, made no difference,it'll drive all day long at low speed low revs but as soon as it's under load on acceleration
it cuts out, doesn't go into limp mode, just cuts out. It's probably the pump but can't afford to have anything done at the minute, times are hard :(

throttle pedals are a very common fault on connects, if you know someone else with a connect try swapping theirs and see what happens, only takes a few minutes to change

My van done this last week for the first time, changed fuel filter this weekend so I am hoping this will sort it.
