One side done, pretty easily. Hub was a bit of a pain to press off, as it needs some force. My van is only 4 years old, so I guess this will be a real pig of a job as they rust and age...
The other side is proving a little more of a pain. Hub wouldn't press off, and it started to rip off the disk as more pressure was applied. Had to ease it off with two chisels, a little bit at a time..
Putting it back on, I found the hub was still loose, so I applied a bit more torque.... fatal.
The spacer between the bearings crushes..I'm guessing a bit was jolted loose with the separating operation... New set of bearings ordered for tomorrow morning, but they are £160 plus vat... (for a bearing set!!!!)
I've removed both bearing cases now, and its all ready for reassemble in the morning..
What would have been missing between the two bearing sets ?
