MK7 2.2 130 hp broken piston

Postby suki74 » Mon May 16, 2011 7:55 pm

Hello everyone, I am writing from Italy and I apologize for my English. I have a camper on a Ford Transit MK7 2.2 130 hp built in 2007. Here, as well as in France, we hear more and more talk of cases of broken pistons in this engine, even a few kilometers (18,000). In these cases, the workshops blame the jet. You know something? From you there were several breaks of this kind? How to prevent?
Thanks to everyone for their contribution to the discussion.

There have been several reported cases of failed pistons on 130s caused by overfueling injectors

How could I prevent this? Change of office all 4 injector with a series constructed recently. From what I know there is no way to prevent breakage of the piston, it happens suddenly without warning of the impending rupture. In Italy the least Ford did not take into consideration the problem.
