SO then where do you all tend to camp on campsites or wild camping?

Just curious as to what others do.

Personally I prefer to wild camp, but then I am a bit of a loner at times lol

Wild camping is what i do cause alot of camp site won't let me in cause I'm too young that's what they tell me the girlfriend prefers wild camping she say its more romantic i think thats cause i seem to park in place you'd never think off like on the beach or beside a lake or only last week on a cliff . When i toured England and Wales and Scotland a few years back in my starlet i lived in my car for 2 weeks parking up in lay by and parking lots any where relay was fun as there was two of us and a car full of stuff took turns sleeping in the back now that was a trip and half.
I have hardly any pictures of the camper cause i hadn't got a good camera till now but here is one of my Starlet when we found some where to set up the tent thats my brother doing something

I tend to do both depending on were I am and who I am with, if it's a campsite it's the cheap basic ones were your lucky if there's a shower but only if it's a trip of more than a few days when a shower and topping up water is nessecary.

and use a solar shower to wash no probs

the camping and caravan club is great for us,the costs are reasonable and the sites have good showers.
can sometimes be a bit snobbish on a few sites,not as bad as the caravan club itself.
I think some people regard a scouser in a camper as a forward scout for a load of pikeys.
a campsite with a local pub is all we need.

being into shooting etc.we tend to camp at game fairs or nearby campsites,safer with having an 8 year old in toe.

Not tried wild camping yet, but the van is usable on 12v and gas when no hookup available.

can sometimes be a bit snobbish on a few sites,not as bad as the caravan club itself.

We're in the caravan club, and haven't had any snobbery aimed at us.... We may have been lucky so far, but on a whole we've been happy on their sites. And they are usually well kept.

Hi Andy sorry I didn't mean all sites just the odd one.
We have been away for a week in the peak district,we booked four days at Ashbourne bit of a mistake,no walks off the site,and the cross country walk to the pub was ,like going on safari.we met a great couple and they didn't like the site either,so suggested Bake well site.
We left Ashbourne,a day early,
Bakewell was fantastic,no toilets or showers,but the walks are brilliant ,three pubs about 45 mins walk.
We didnt feel out of place,so stayed a extra day,thats one site we will go back to.in two weeks hopefully.
I have to tidy the van up and then we can go again

When i bought a Mk3 high top Pioneer camper some years back, we thought we would give it a run out into the country, went to a nice pub and watched the world cup rugby and decided to wild camp on Ivinghoe Beacon in a car park.
Had a nice comfortable nights sleep and and didnt wake up till about 9, Made a cup of tea, flung the door open and the car park was rammed with cars and people, all walking there dogs and off for rambling

We found a great site in Youlgrave near Bakewell,three pubs in the village about a mile away.
plenty of walks,its a camping and caravan site,but has no toilets or showers,
the price is very reasonable,the staff are great,
grass or hard standing with loads of room between pitches,there is also leccy hook up.
With the schools being on holiday its going to be hard to find a quite site,but this one should be okay.
The wild campers would like it,but you have to pay ,but its worth it

I've been away for days on end, have never used an electric hook up, and the only gas I use is a table top burner that takes the disposable cans

Think the only time I've paid & stayed on an actual campsite was at billing for transitmania

ITs definately a nicer feeling wild camping, most of my camping is wild, however this week i'm breaking that as i'm off to billing later with several mates for the week.

When your use to wild camping its a bit of a shock having to pay £20 a night lol.

Now I just have to wait for winter, as winter camping is even more fun

hi i do quite a lot of wild camping we just park up anywere we can and we have had some brilliaint week ends in lincolnshire and wales and blackpool.most car parks you can park on over night and doesnt cost agreat deal.the most memorable weekend for us was in january when we parked up on mumbles head down in swansea we got up the next morning to snow on the beach it was absolutly gorgous first time i have ever seen that. have fun wild camping and if other people turn there noses up at you dont worry about i dont.

Wild camping every time, I don't associate myself with the flimsy fraternity their sole intention being on a campsite is to brag about their plastic n' chipboard mobile, and to laugh at the man in a van.

Last wild camping was 3 weeks parked in a road in the Isle of Man open the door and the beach was 10 feet away. Just put a 190W solar panel on (latest mod) and things are a lot sweeter now never used the genny once and running a television and eberspatcher sometimes all day when the weather was bad.

Next mod is to insulate the roof, well I've had the van 8 years these things take time
