Cleaning a map sensor?

Postby Martino » Mon Oct 24, 2011 8:01 pm

After reading a few threads ive heard that cleaning the map sensor on a van can help with mpg?...can anyone clarify this?

Does anyone know where its located on my MWB High roof mk6 2005 reg?, how easy is it to get to and how easy are they to clean....one post said it takes like 5 mins?....

I have a oil leak which seems to be coming from the manifold, this will be resulting in bad mpg right??...need to get it sorted!

which manifold is leaking
ave mpg is 24/28 round town.....up to 38mpg on a run
compensation should be made for roof racks/trailors /weights
also keep tyres on higher pressures, check brakes dont bind,
most is down to driving style,
to help youself...blank egr....clean inlet manifold....consider a decat....and have a remap (having a lower power engine is not always good economy),always use correct oil

this is my engine, from above i`ve looked and felt all the hoses but can`t find anything that may be the MAP sensor.
Do i need to be under the van looking at the engine facing the bulk head :?:
Forgive my ignorance  :?
