2011 2.4 TDCI. HOW MUCH ENGINE OIL?

Postby SIMONH8606 » Mon Dec 05, 2011 1:31 pm

How much oil do these hold?
Autodata say 6.9litre, these have a different sump and i say its closer 9 litres, but the lease company will only pay for 6.9 unless we can prove to them its more.

Over filling is far more dangerous than a low oil level on the dip stick.

Hardly registering what does that mean??

But if it's on min is that after being stood a while ( better over night ) on level ground???

If its on min, roughly from min to max Could be between 1/4 to 3/4 of a litre so if you do put extra 2 litres in it will be seriously over filled :!:

One of the ford techs will tell you for sure.

More oil capacity would surely mean longer between services wouldnt it as the oil will last longer.Which i assume was the aim.

That was my understanding of the increased capacity

yep ... having the same problem, Autolease will only 'authorise' 7 litres , sump holds 9.

We now tell customer to purchase the req'd extra themselves on their fuel card

it does req like 9.40L of oil with the new sump but the newer ones are every 20,000 miles instead of 15,000 miles service intervals
