Another customising idea for the van???

Postby Luke » Mon Nov 28, 2011 1:30 pm

dont shoot me guys  but i was thinking what about moving the number plate into the rear bumper then plating over the rear door recess  like mattblackminibus has done :?:

but the rear bumper (i dont mind doing it) we could weld in a recess so the plate is inset 8)

i just think it would look good and give it a smooth apperance from the back :D

what do we think :?: if i could get a mk5 bumper here then i could have it done before the next build :D

had a spare hour today so i made a start on the bumper 8)

cut the recess out :D

welded in another strip of sheet :D

just to give an idea of how it'll look :D

obviously its not finished it needs a plate on the back and all the excess grinding down and smoothing off, but i'll get round to that soon :D

we will need some number plate lights so if any ones got any they think will be suitable and are willing to donate post up :D

Could you cut a hole into the side pieces Luke, and use escort van number plate lights :?:
2024 Ford Transit Custom 300S Active 170ps Auto
2021 Ford Transit Custom 300S Active 170ps
2014 Ford Fiesta Sport Van 95ps

yeah mate something like that  - i've looked around in the spares i've got and i can't find anything suitable, the recess is 30-40mm deep so it'd need to fit in that, i couldn't go much deeper as the back panel would be in the way :|

i haven't actually tried it on a van yet
