Another customising idea for the van???

dont shoot me guys but i was thinking what about moving the number plate into the rear bumper then plating over the rear door recess like mattblackminibus has done

but the rear bumper (i dont mind doing it) we could weld in a recess so the plate is inset

i just think it would look good and give it a smooth apperance from the back

what do we think if i could get a mk5 bumper here then i could have it done before the next build

if you guys going to do that why not debage the front and take the door locks and door handals off and do remote door opening ?

well i've got a mk5 rear bumper here now

i'll put some pics up as i mod it

had a spare hour today so i made a start on the bumper

cut the recess out


welded in another strip of sheet


just to give an idea of how it'll look


obviously its not finished it needs a plate on the back and all the excess grinding down and smoothing off, but i'll get round to that soon

we will need some number plate lights so if any ones got any they think will be suitable and are willing to donate post up

yeah mate something like that - i've looked around in the spares i've got and i can't find anything suitable, the recess is 30-40mm deep so it'd need to fit in that, i couldn't go much deeper as the back panel would be in the way

i haven't actually tried it on a van yet

we should have some news on the bits at nicks very soon - as soon as we've got them out of storage we'll post it up and sort the next build date out
