The illuminated handles are very easy to do if you have electric windows. Basically its a 3mm led which is powered from the electric window power wires so the LEDs are always one but because they are fairly dim you can't really see them during the day.

Ive got some pictures somewhere from when I did it. I'll find them and post them up.

The dials are easy as well, no need to take the needles off. They're Lockwood dials and came with instructions on how to do them. It's just a case of taking the old dial stickers off and sticking the new white ones on.

Couldn't find any the pictures of how indie he door handle lights, pretty simple to do though.
You'll need 2 LEDs and resistors to suit ( i used 3mm ones as that's what I had), 2 of the little plastic clips and some wire.
Take the door card off, drill a hole through the plastic surround of the door handle, put the clip in, solder the wire and resistor to the led, put the led in the clip (here I used a little bit of hot glue to hold the led and clip in place, then solder the wires tothe illumination circuit in the electric window loom. And that's it!
If you've not got electric windows it's still do-able you just need to run the LEDs wires through to either an ignition live or the illumination circuit.

The stuff I used on the lights isn't actually a tint film, it's called flyeyeskit and the lights shows though it almost perfectly.
I've got the same stuff on the front indicators on my fiesta, driverside with flyeyes passenger without. It isn't as bright but it's certainly brighter than the chrome bulbs I have in the transit

That's why I went for red illuminated switches, every man and his dog converts to blue LEDs and I wanted to be different

Just noticed that I said I have fitted the dash etc and the rev counter what I actually meant was a volt meter  not sure why I called it a rev counter, obviously had a rush of sh*t to the head lol

Not so much progress just lately, been busy with the XR2 fitting leccy windows, central locking etc.

The only things I've done recently is fit a proper front foglight switch (its out of a mk5 escort) and fitted a pair of mk3 mondeo horns and a stebel nautilus horn

Managed to pick up a brand new front bumper and grill for just £10 each today, ;local scrappy wanted £20 just for a bumper! Mine is all cracked around one of the mounting holes and scuffed on the corners.

Next big job on the list is new front wings and arches, not looking forward to that as my welding skills like my mig welder are not great as Minor Matt will agree with

Typically now the colder weather is here and I could do with windscreen blowers the resistor has packed up so now only works on number 3 plus the motor is making a right load of noise, rattling and squeaking.

Have had my White lockwood dials and red led lighting for a little while and liked how it looked as it was a bit different
Image

I saw some different dials that took my fancy so bought them and fitted them today and this is how my dials look now

In the blue setting
Image

In the green setting
Image

Doesn't look much different between the green and blue setting in the picture but it is pretty visible to the naked eye.

Only other changes are new tyres after getting punctures in both rear tyres.

Not a lot going on with this lately as I've been so busy with work and life in general!
Fitted new discs and pads as the drivers side looked like this
Image

So a trip to eurocarparts and £58 later I was all set to do the discs (after getting some good advice from here). It wasn't all plain sailing with 3 ofthe 4 bolts holding the caliper brackets rounding off. Luckily my local garage (just across the road from me) lent me some turbo sockets which had the bolts out in seconds. I looked online to see how much a set would cost and they're £182!!!!!
Decided while the wheels and discs etc were off to tart up the calipers a wee bit, so set about giving them a lick of paint and finished with this.
Image
But the blue calipers make the wheels look really scabby and nasty so I guess they'll be painted soon.

Also changed all the Dash and window switches to illuminate in blue to match the plasma dials.

Need to fill or tape over the front arches for the MOT next month and then I'll replace them properly when the weather is a bit better also have a rear door panel to pick up from minor Matt as mine is rotten through.

Well thought I'd update this as its been a while.

So what's new? A new scuff/mark down the side just above the side door runner, I presume from someone's wing mirror.
Just changed the cheap ass ripspeed speakers I fitted with some nice new JBL ones
Image
Got them for just £14.99, were reduced from £44.99. I even managed to get another pair for the doors to replace the cheap ass maplin speakers.

The new speakers have shown up a problem, they make the fluorescent tube light that's screwed to the bulk head vibrate!. Now I've been meaning to replace that light for a while so that gave me a good reason to find something else. I like LEDs and a little searching on eBay I found these
Image
Image

Also have now got electric adjustable headlights thanks to minormatt. The switch to adjust them was illuminated in the normal Ford green so 5 minutes with a soldering iron and I had this
Image

Have given all the bolts a good soaking with plusgas tonight. Hopefully will be able to get them out without any shearing off.

Well after a small delay in swapping the headlights I did them this morning and out of the 3 bolts holding each headlight in 1 on the NS sheared and 2 on the OS sheared off so I drilled them out and fitted the lights using some stainless steel nuts and bolts.
Also fitted some led bulbs for the side lights and some Phillips vision extreme +100% headlight bulbs and twin horns from a mk3 mondeo which is an improvement over the standard one. I might fit another pair to the other side as well or maybe a stebel horn, always good to make the MOT man jump
