the build quality on this fran is first class . my mrs shows little interest in my projects let alone gets out there with the welder keep up the good work gonna be one amazing van
if its got tits or wheels its always gonna end in trouble !!! anyone can restore a van but it takes a real man to chop it up !!!
Thanks Altransit...I'm taking the week off working on the Bus for my Birthday...Having said that, We are using some of the time to fit a tow bar to the car (to take bus to specialised services)....Consult an engineer and a LPG fitter not to mention picking up sheetmetal and a bunch of steel for further Love bus work. I sure know how to party!!!!!!
If you didn't build it yourself...It isn't really yours (Tim the Toolman Taylor)
Now I didn't do the following this week...think it was the week before........ With the floor out it's easier to do something about the crossmember I chopped (just above bellhousing in pic) Here's where the extra crossmember will go 2 parts of crossmember...Had these folded at a sheet metal shop The extra crossmember plus the bits I had folded will form a K-frame
If you didn't build it yourself...It isn't really yours (Tim the Toolman Taylor)
Trans filler tube in way of K-frame ......so it's goodbye to the factory filler tube Crossmember fouled trans in test fitting so subframes fabricated shallower and crossmember needs to be modded to match One down...one to go Modded crossmember (background) K frame temporarily tacked in place for floor pan mod

Thanks Dean and Pat.... ....an earlier test fit pic (hence trolley jack)...realised I've never taken pics of tank bolted in place floor to match K-frame Drain hole becomes......... .....stainless LPG filler surround Changed my mind on shifter location ....means handbrake going back in original position Finally got around to doing that rear lower 1/4 panel..... .....and the other one Had to fabricate bracket for flexible dipstick...maybe it was made to fit USA unit with starter motor on other side Start of floor/firewall lip for engine cover rubber seal
