I really don't know what I'm going to do with it, I'm tempted to just leave her as she is right now and see how long I can drive around for before getting pulled! Would be nice to get some more film/tv type of work, but for now I'm just happy that the bloke from Belgium didn't beat me to buying it!

Original colour was black as far as I can tell, all door shuts, step wells and interior metal is black.

As for the weight, she is a 130 so is plated to 3.08t but I have no idea how much she weighs in her stockinged feet, I'll pop by the weighbridge next week and find out.

Just found out that the old girl hasn't had a tax disc since 1996!!!

And the registered colour is white. :?

Slightly worried now as to whether or not she is carrying the correct registration mark, I will be checking the V5 very carefully tomorrow when I go to pick her up. I'm hoping the reason for the long, long time off the road is due to her being stored in a warehouse since the late 90s, hence the reason for the clean bodywork and lack of underside rust? Lets hope so, eh? 8)

Thats what I'm hoping is the case. But no tax disc for 17 years? That's the worry for me, I really need to know where this van has been for the last decade and a half. There was mention that is was in a film 'Vet Hard' which was Belgian as far as I can tell, I wonder if it has been on the continent for the last few years? The plot thickens....

Finally got the old girl back to the works yard today, was an interesting drive back from Redhill! Some good looks from the passing plod! She drives ok, bit smoky at first but ran sweet after that, managed 70 on the M25.

Seems like the first two years of her life are a bit of an unknown. After 1990, she belonged to a large firm as a wages van, I have all the MOT papers from 1990 to 1997 which show very little mileage increase in that time period, most of the 43000 miles on the clock were racked up in that first couple of years. The van has not been on the public roads since 1996 according to the vehicle licencing records, so probably sat in a yard or warehouse for quite a few years. She was purchased by NineNine Action Cars in 2005 and that is who she stayed with until Dream Cars in Redhill acquired her for the Guardian telly ad at the end of last year. Going to remove the police graphics, and have the wood-and-plastic bullbar remade in ally with discrete brackets so it can be removed if necessary. Also going to have the windscreen grilles remade and also fitted with discrete bracketry so it can be fitted and removed quickly. I'm hoping that there will be future tv/film work for the van so need to be able to offer it in both 'standard' and 'beefed up' guise! 8)

Couple more pics...

The bullbar won't be permanent, just available if I fancy putting them on! I reckon most people who know Transits will recognise the Mk3-ness hidden beneath!

Ten points to whoever correctly identifies what the rear wheel covers were in a former life.... :?:
