rear brake caliper

Postby Justice » Tue Apr 17, 2012 9:28 pm

Hi all
I have a 190 MK5 hi cube 2.5 deisel. The axle is off a mini bus with a taller ratio. The question is are the rear brake calipers interchangeable between the 20.6 bore and the 25.4 bore. I ask as I need new calipers and the mk 5 originally had 25.4 but the calipers on at the moment are 20.6. I have the original calipers off the old axle and they are in good nick and was hoping to just swaqp them over.

Yes you can use the bigger 'cylinders' but you will have a bit more pedal travel....

I would fit the 25.4s on, as these would reduce possible rear wheel lock up when the van is empty :)

Because he'd be moving a greater volume of fluid, the same distance :!: But it may not be noticeable
