Tow bar conections???

Postby handymac » Sun May 20, 2012 11:38 am

Would I be right in thinking that the Mk6 has a loom connection for a tow bar socket?

I found a connection with a blanking plug in it at the back on the N/S. If so where could I get one of the plugs?

Thanks i advance for the wisdom :D

I think you will more likely find that the unused plug is for the optional heated rear window and wiper. Even the Ford genuine trailer socket kit is connected infusing interrupter looms at the rear lights

You remove the wiring plug off the rear lights and plug the towbar wiring onto the lights then the vehicle lighting wiring plugs, plugs onto the towbar wiring connectors, and then there is a relay that goes behind the O/S/R Light unit, then a power wire. on the my van there was already a live wire behind the O/S/R Light. It was an easy job to fit, straight forward....
