No, no wires in pillars, to do it correctly on a MK 7 they should be connected in with the number plate lights, so they do not interfere with the parking lights

No wires on vans, only chassis cabs, but rear light cable go up a pillars, so easy to tap in

I've already changed the orange side markers for LED ones- no problems.

If I go LED on roof what problems would they cause if wired into tail or side lights?

Won't cause any issues, just they will come on with parking lights, but they shouldn't

Just an update on these.

I bought the 'bolt on bits' led markers but as the leds are angled inside the housing they aren't very bright when mounted flat on my roof. They would suit a medium roof better mounted on the angle rather than the flat top.

Also picked up some ford tipper markers, as the tipper roof has flat parts profiled into it to take the markers I will have to shave down the markers to fit my roof. Also have to find some led bulbs for them too.

I also bought some of the white led half circle marker lights (if that makes sense) and knocked out rear number plate lights and stuck them in there to light up my plate. Mines a lift up rear door, so has the bulbs in the big handle.

Chris.

Few pics,

Split the lights, bottom half wont fit my roof

Image

So i just going to use the top half and use a rubber seal to seal it to the roof,

New bulbs, cree ba9 i think,

Old,

New,

Fitted the bulb,

Then screwed the lights to the van with a seal and connected them onto the wires i'd left from last time,

Image

The wires I connected on to go up and across the roof lining to power the rear side lights.

It was a while ago so cant remeber which colour wire I connected on to. When i originally put the wires in, I just pulled the rear light off the back of the van to find which colour wire it was, then found it in the head lining.

Only took me 6 months
