Hi,
Had clutch converted from dmf to solid on 2.4 rwd mk6 115 in March 2011. 25k down the road and it is slipping in first and second gear. Almost always slight jolt when first gear selected when stationary. Also engine oil leak from crankshaft, Cannot select reverse gear first thing in the morning as van has no biting point, however if 1st selected it is happy. My neighbour who is Ford mechanic fitted this one and was not neighbourly about the price! however i knew i was looking at another clutch soon after collecting the van. Starts first time all fine. I am wondering should i let it go until clutch is knackered completeley as i could keep it running for at least a couple of months before it becomes to troublesome.
In any case i would like to start looking at what type of clutch to fit when the time comes, it has only ever had genuine ford clutches so would prefer fords. Am i correct in thinking that that Luk supply ford?
Also need a good clutch specialists, i hear the transit centre in dudley are good, any ideas?
Oh and what sort of price should i pay for a good job.
Thanks
