right, I'm after veiws, opinions, advice etc...........the first of my transits will be ariving soon, its a chassis cab mk2, with the fire breathing 1.6 pinto................its gonna be a transporter, so my options as I see it are 2.9i V6,on lpg, what parts are available of the shelf ?? or a Turbo diesel, cost and parts required? is it gonna be too expensive?? or have you other ideas, fabrication is not an issue, i have welders, lathes, milling machines etc, lets go for it guys

Both ideas sound really good :!:

If you go gas, is there a suitable place for the additional tank :?: (apart from the passenger seat  )

figure I can add a tank on the other side to the normal one, twin tank style, I can also use biodiesel in it, which ids why I am stuck as to what to do...............give me another Cortina Io can decide what to do with them no trouble,

Oh well, the next question is; How quiet must it be :?:

Unless you go TDCI it'll always be noisy with a diesel and your neighbours might not appreciate you going on a rescue mission in the middle of the night

Of course if they need to be taught a lesson  ............................

dont have neighbours for about 1/2 a mile :D :D noise is irrelivent, as My cars are loud anyway  its all about torque and economy for me, at the moment, other thoughts overnight have been an injected pinto, a 2.0 zetec, all of which I have lying about, only the diesel would need to be bought.unless I use the 2.8 td out of my Trooper

Well if I had my way and the cash mine would go Zetec, parts are a plenty and the power you can get from them is great, but as a transporter I think torque is more important than Bhp, if LPG is a viable option then 2.9 V6 would be my choice as its a good compromise between the two.

You need the pulling power, so I would stick to one of your original options

V6 with LPG would be the best option IMO.

I think the Essex mounts on the Cologne would work, correct me if I am wrong.

LPG on a 2.9 EFi :D only trouble is getting mounts but i'm sure have a welder or 4 laying about
or stop being a poof and stick a V8 in it :P , i do beleive a chap in selston has one he didn't fit in a 2door Mk3 corty
easyest would be a pinto EFi, more torque than a carbed one and just as easy to LPG, non turbo 2.5 is a wee bit slow with a car on the back  especialy if you live near hills
