Shorter rear shock in rear for lowered transit?

I am getting closer on my transit lowering and was wondering what shocks people are using in the rear. Will it bottom out with the oem shocks?

i fitted these,as the standard shocks only have a round an inch of travel left once lowered.


and being damper adjustable really helps if you carry some weight.mod your transit sell them for £190 the pair

In what way Would your uprated shocks benefit a non lowered van? Would it improve the handling of it with less body roll and what would you recommend to uprate at the front to go with it?

Rear shocks have 13 point damper adjustment.
So yes they can stiffen up the rear and reduce body roll.

As for the front there is nothing on the market at the moment for a connect apart from front coilovers.but I do know mod your transit are working on a set now

Working on a set to keep standard ride height and stiffer setup to help reduce the door mirrors scraping the floor lol.

I take it all new suspension that you can do has the same load rating as the standard ones? As I carry about 150lt of water in the back when I do some valeting so would love a stiffer ride with reduced body roll

yes load ratings stay the same.

my blue sport was loaded (over weight) with a 400ltr water tank and lowered


empty with the rear set down.so it always looked the same

you will never stop the body roll due to carrying water but the rear stocks will go a very long way to help.i was able to lower the rear that much and carry water due to the shocks and the wheels did not rub.
with the weight and being lowered we found the rear would come crashing down over speed bumps,once with the shocks fitted and set to max this fixed that problem

new replacment van carrys 200 ltr tank and is using the same shocks


we are working on front sports shocks that will work on lowering and standard springs

front springs fit in your standard front shocks and you can JUST get away with your standard rear shocks

Guys the standard kit comes with brand new lowered springs for front (40 or 60mm) and flip axle with the adjustable hagers for hright adjustment.
You use your exsisting shocks on rear and you existing front struts. You just change coil spring on front and the new top mount.
If you want a better ride for rear then you buy uprated shocks on rear.
Or go the whole hog and buy the coilover kit. This gives you everything you need. Fully adjustable on front and rear.

Don't the shocks bottom out? Shouldn't shock replacement be mandatory?

im more than happy to put them into kits,but most customer want a cheap kit.doing so would put the price up to around £500

no they dont bottom out.i have lost count the amount of vans i have lowered.a number of vans carry weight on standard shocks and dont have any problems.

so its not needed to be mandatory,and that why its an option to have the uprated shocks and we leave it up to the customer.

Wow is all I can say valetech that's really impressive having that amount of weight lol looks like a superb product for anyone no matter what they use their van for.
