Egr pipe for mk6 2004 2.0DI

Postby Plumbtek280 » Thu Jul 10, 2014 3:36 pm

Hi all, on the off chance has some one out there got an egr tube/pipe for sale. its the pipe that runs from the egr valve across the front of the engine and then round to the inlet manifold. mine has a quite large hole in it and makes the thing sound like a bloody tractor with no exhaust! :(

Again the van is a mk6 2004 2.0DI 100ps
Any help would be appreciated
Many thanks

Went and got one today from the local stealer! managed to get it for £140 all in which aint too bad. nice and new and shiny as well!! 8)

Fitting it this afternoon, should improve the sound!

The van cut out on me yesterday though. the hole couldn't be the cause could it Altransit?

It never caused that problem on mine, it was noisy and down on power until we found the fault, but blanking the ends made it run better than before, because it disabled the EGR valve 8)

All seems much improved after fitting the pipe. the van has so much more power, is a lot quieter and so far it hasn't failed to start or cut out on me

Result!!

very happy boy :D

Scusi... whaddya mean you "banked" both ends. My EGR piped broke clean so I have fixed it for the moment with a baked bean can wrapped round it and some jubilee clips. Works a treat. Not sure how long it will last though!
Any other ideas? The van ain't gonna last long so I don't really want to spend £220 on a new EGR pipe.
