Hey loot, would your's not be bringing up B2477 as well if you've tried reprogramming them? I managed to get all airbag an restraint circuit faults to disappear by adding in fused 2.8ohm resistors into the circuits at fault but it appears that once activated you can't clear B2477...

Side curtain airbags are seat mounted, on, if I remember correctly, GLX spec Transits, Early sport vans with cloth seats, not sure about limited spec vans, or sports with leather

It is looking likely that I'v reprogramed the rcm , I had previously opened a session on ids with the intention of turning off the locking failure warning horn, but I could not find the menus on the module programing selection,I always thought my version of ids seemed a bit sparse with the menus and I don't always find what Im looking for which has me clicking through different sections....... . when I get it on ids again (after an update ) Im expecting to see the rcm is configured wrong. I also tried to clear the codes with a generic type reader but made no difference.
but feeling a little happier that the underlying fault was me rather than a problem on the system; I hav'nt rung Ford yet, I'm not sure I want to ! I think I'll wait till Ive sourced another.

thanks for for the pointers guys, its been a great help. Airthies Howto is exactly what I need. SPOTON

Quite right, i mistook your fault as comms error when it is actually config error

Question is tho, if he has twin air bags then how can the rcm be reprogrammed differently lol, i would have thought it would reprogram it to what it already is?
It's a setting that is fast becoming a pointless option i think lol.

While ids was updating I checked the handbook, side airbags are installed in Seat back, which I definately dont have. just Driver and passenger.
With 86.04 running plugged in the vcm and found this

went to the toolbox menu

and still cannot open module programing

I continue to get the same message.

the Ids info is, v 86.04 VCM 11 pc software version 2.1.1.5 and it shows device software version

Hi loot that link takes me to one file labeled " IDS-86.04 update.zip
17 days ago · 20.91 MB" which I downloaded and installed, didn't see any thing named xprog

I have since found the MENU to RCM programing via the 'Electrical ' menu which advises checking DTCs first.
The re configure failed. At the moment loot I'm waiting on a replacement mod. so I've really no urgency to sort ids, (but I would really like the module programing at some point)
perhaps I need to get the config files loaded first

and then I found a further code B10A2 (which cleared)

Im not sure this is relevent ... Im thinking Ive probably been a bit rough handling the module,

Another thank you loot, the programing menu now opens up. I tried to reprogram but as now expected it fails, it gave me a message that programing was only for New Modules.
I shall sit tight and await a module, at least now I am confident I have the tool to clear crash data if I need.

I'm also hoping to now turn of the 'failed lock' Horn (Ive a sticky lock on the back door to sort )
Cheers guys, all your input has been great

Module programming-config (under reprogram)- config parameters (above special function)- top option download vehicle config-3rd option (modify config)- torn things on and off as you please - upload vehicle config.
:-)

When this thread is concluded, can i move it to a more appropriate party of the forum?
Bit mad being in the wanted section lol :o
