Roof gutter clamps

Postby ShireServicesFr » Fri Oct 26, 2018 9:57 pm

Looking for 4... probably medium roof height gutter clamps.
My van is high roof, but medium should work just fine.

Looking to fashion 2 together on each side, just above the doors, to get a local metal worker to run a bar from one side to the other, to mount a Rigid Industries LED light bar.

Only ones I can find, are part of a roof rack kit... which I don’t want, and don’t want spending however much on a kit, just to get the gutter clamps.

Thanks for any info

Can't you fabricate something?

Instructions for use. fill with fuel. start engine. drive like a t#@t.

Fabricate a bracket and bolt right onto side of roof , seal with a PU sealer like tiger seal before tightening bolts up and it'll never leak especially being on side slope of roof

Thanks for the replies, I don’t know if I’m concerned over nothing, but would rather not drill into body, these lights aren’t the lightest in weight, so don’t want potentially damaging the area said holes would be.
The gutters, would be stronger.
Will look at some other options

Direct mounting would be stronger than any gutter mount.
Using plates cut to same size on inside and outside to sandwich the panel will be more solid.
It's surprising what you can hold if you spread the load Image
Image this has plates full width across doors for support.
