Transit connect mk1 rear tailgate locking latch

Need a locking latch mechanism for a tailgate (not seen another connect with a tailgate )
Would anyone do me the honour of completing the challenge of finding me this part, I've tried countless breakers and parts places , can get one from Ford for £350 but for a boot latch that makes me sick and I can't afford it
Many thanks in advance I really would appreciate any help as I am stuck !!!!!!
(The door is a single door that opens upwards and not two doors that open outwards)

Did you have any luck with a tailgate lock for the MK1 Connect Van ?
I also need a replacement as the original (now 21 years old) is dying....
