It was on gumtree at same time for 3000, its 2.0 petrol dohc with 148000 on it, iv got same but with 48k on :D

Just goes to show it is only worth what someone is willing to pay WHEN you sell it.

That "mint" mk1 has been on eBay for well over a year, £15k and not sold. If you wanted to restore one then it would cost a lot more, but again only worth what people will pay.
