Of it was added to the Monty collection it would be kept as is.

The only thing stopping me is lack of space/money/wife/lack of work. If it wasn't for that ........

It was 7 year ago but went over myself and drove it back. Was just like every other mk1 fire van. Paid 2600 euros

Prices have gone up (a lot) its also UK registered and MOT'd which adds a lot to the value (far more than the 100 odd quid it costs!) As the new owner won't have the hassle of doing it, and can just drive away.

You may have paid 2600 euro for your van in germany... but it doesn't mean it is worth the equivilant in this country (supply and demand).

Personally I don't know what the value of this van is because I don't look at mk1s much, but I know the value of good ones has gone up massively in the last few years!

At the time it cost less than £500 to do the convention as i brought a donor mk1 camper for £250 and a mk2 v6 ambulance for £100 for the front and rear axle. All the bits were there and what i didn't use where sold on. When i came to sell it it struggled to get a buyer at the time but eventually sold. Like Matt says there's more demand for the classics now but they were horrible to drive over here in lhd which is wht i cinverted it over asap.

Ah those were the days !

TBH I dont mind the drive at all.Used to compete in a LHD rally car so get used to it. If i do end up making it into service truck , I would put in a more powerfull engine but would probably leave as LHD.

I don't have an issue with LHD tbh. Im keeping my firevan as it came.
