Egr-stainless pipe &remap

Postby Transit-chap » Sat Nov 23, 2013 1:05 am

Hello everybody at FTF, I have finally decided to join after reading it for bits and bobs over the last few years.

After bobing a k&n and having an Eco remap on my mk7 100-350 I have decided to go the hole hog and get a full stainless exhaust turbo back and get it remapped again and get the egr mapped out. I was just wondering if anybody has done this and how good was it after?

Egr-stainless pipe &remap

Hi, welcome to the site. Ok, the mk7 have VVT turbos that NEED the cat left on, or they simply don't work, so only go cat-back. K&N don't make a filter that sits in the std box, but pipercross do, worth about 3hp. EGR blanking can work for better driving on a mk7 but it will throw up a fault code on the dash after about 100 miles. Vantuner on here (Martynx) is very highly recommended on here, he can remap and delete the EGR for you. One thing to remember is the std factory system is perfectly sized for these engines, so stick to the same configuration or you will lose torque at low-mid range, same goes for the cat. If your looking for high gains then speak to vantuner first as you can change injectors and possibly turbos, but price is high (£2k). I have a stainless system on mine, probably gave me about 5hp, but I'm sure I lost some low down torque.

Thanks for that, I'll have a chat with vantuner regarding the remap. I got the k&n because I service twice a year so it's cheaper to clean and oil than to keep throwing paper filters in. I'm not bothered about the bhp..... It's the mpg!
