Help me choose a stereo

Postby Cheese Monkey » Fri Oct 18, 2013 5:11 pm

Theres a reason this is in the one offs section

I'm wanting a properly flash new stereo and I've been looking at the Chinese made stuff such as this-

So I've been thinking about getting a tablet such as the Nexus 7,

which will essentially will do all the same stuff, but will be more of a faff when it comes to reversing camera, FM radio etc. Top notch excellent for everything else though. Would mount it directly infront of the existing radio and run an aux in cable into it. Or alternatively get creative and remove the existing radio, and flush mount the tablet, install an amp under the seat for speakers etc.

Any thoughts?

This is going in my Connect, have both double and 1.5din panels

I wasn't impressed by the app ones the menus and layout seemed poor and not thought out well

I have just fitted a Pioneer 3500-DAB. It is an all seeing all dancing bit of kit and I have nothing but praise for it. Easy to fit and looks the part.

I fitted a sony 7" DVD, Bluetooth with iPod , it went in a treat and looks good, cost £250 I think, about the same as the Chinese ones on flea bay.

Whatever you decide to go for make sure it`s digital ready for the switchover.
Think it starts rolling out end of next year.

Ive got an android double din stereo ... one of them Chinese ones as you say ... lol

I personally think its Awesome , Ive had it for just under a year and have nothing but good things to say about it

I have managed to customise it a bit as you can see with my FORD load screen and various other bits and bobs.

some of the things you can do with this are amazing , for instance .. if you have an android phone you can use your phone as a hotspot .. hook your stereo up to it and surf the net using your phones 3G ... downloading stuff whilst driving down the motorway is a great way to pass the time.

The dvd playback on it is spot on

If you want any further advice or questions answered , let me know

and if your familiar with android stuff I can tell you more stuff it can do and advise you on things you can make it do

IMO - I have yet to see a stereo that can match what mine does.. without spending stupid money
