V8 conversion 1uzfe (4L V8 soarer)

Postby daddycool454 » Sun Jan 19, 2014 6:44 pm

Hello folks,

I am embarking on a wonderful journey.
I recently bought a transit dual cab truck 2002 model.
It came complete with a 125 2.4L engine with a thrown rod.
I have decided to put a Lexus or Toyota Soarer V8 into it.
I contemplated a few engines.
5L V8 windsor, 5L V8 Holden, 3.9L V8 discovery, new 2.4L duratorque, 3.8L Supercharged V6 and 4L V8 1uzfe engine.
After lots of thought and a few drops of amber ale I decided on the 1uzfe. Deciding factors were power, economy, reliability and cost.
This engine ticked all the boxes and I purchased a car for $1000 with low kms.
So far I have removed the front end and today the engine and gearbox. I will post some fotos of the airconditioned block when I figure out how to do it.

Anyway happy thoughts and I will try to post as updates occur..
regards

Cool, Thats what I swapped for this truck... a 1991 twin turbo sc300. couldnt get the $$ I wanted for it. Found a Transit and ended up swapping it.Think I got hte better end of the deal... It was a tough choice, which one to keep. But alas, in the end the V8 won...(but only just).
