Supervan

People have probably put this up 1000 times, but I'm going to put it up again. I do have a reason though

Other than the fact that it's frikin cool, I want to know if anyone knows how to go about lowering one like that. I can lower the rear simply by using lowering blocks, but the front has the leaf springs going over the mock axle, is there a way of refitting so that the springs go under it therefore lowering the front at least 2" or is there some kind of conversion kit available.

Please help, it looks awesome that low.

Secondly, I want the same headlight surrounds, I have the old round headlight setup, with the full length indicators and the unremovable grill, is it possible to change it to that setup.

That's low because it's a fibreglass body on a car chassis!

Lowering aside, the headlights are Mk2 phase2. To fit them you need the panel the rad is bolted to (second hand only now, they were never offered as a pattern panel.) a plastic grille and the headlights. The headlights fit to the radiator/grille mounting panel via the adjusters, which may or may not come with the panel. Do the 'wrap around' indicators too, ans the phase1 smaller indicators don't look right with the plasic grille.

you cant lower the rears easly - lowering blocks become raising blocks - on the rear! you can either bend the springs or if you wanted to go radically low then mabe mounting the rear the other side of the leafsprings is possable! :?

the front will need some thinking about regarding the steering box linkages! - ive lowered mine by fitting mk4 ifs and cutting the springs down - depends how much work your prepaired to take on! :)

and mk2 phase 1 is soooooooooooooo much neater than the phase 2 keep the one you have

Actually I nearly said keep the front end you have, they are much rarer despite there being more made than the phase2.

In case of the Supervan lowering looks: Maybe channeling is the way to go! :D Don't know if it's possible to do this work on a Transit panel van? :? It's very extensive work for sure! (if it's possible!)

You can have the springs reset

Im sure theres a place in Vic that can do it i know K-mac do it
and theres no way you will get it that low using the factory setup not even if you C notch the chassis
Yeah i know its big green and rusty so move your Porsche before i bash it with 460 cubes of fords finest cast iron

That'salways a good trick. There's a nice looking rat rod not far from my place with a '30s Chev body on a Holden chassis with Valiant running gear. Sits lower and goes far harder than the original!
