What type of vent are you fitting?

I've just fitted a set of Ast*a GTE vent into my spare sapphy bonnet for my car, by cutting the astra bonnet and taking the 'hole' that the vent fits into, then, I cut the Sierra bonnet, and welded the 'hole' into it. Skim of filler, looks factory! :D

Most vents the tools you will need are: angle grinder, or if you are carefull, tin snips, if using snips, you need a drill aswell, and some form of sticking the vent in, silkaflex is great for this.

On finished paint work the best thing i've found is a dremel with the small cutting discs, takes a while but you will get no destortion from heat or damage from using things like jigsaws.

make a template from card first.then put the template on the bonnet to make sure the vent is in the right place and it looks ok.check underneath the bonnet to make sure you are clear of the streangthers.make out the template on the bonnet the cut by dremal/jigsaw/grinder what ever method you find happy with.stick vent in by silkaflex or what ever you want.skim of filler then paint...job done.. BUT TAKE YOU TIME..
