cheers mate, old holes will be gone as were going to turn the hub down eventually, will need to pull the van apart to measure the inside of the rear discs(merc vito  ) then we can turn them down, the tube i need is 73mm od and 58mm id with an 8mm or 10mm wall thickness and we should be able to machine it to marry the 2 together (i think)
cheers :)

so ive had a bit more machining done, halfshafts have been reduced in diameter, i decided to use a pair of 5 series bmw rear brake discs i had in stock, rather than take the van apart to get measurements of discs im already using, means we wont need to change the pcd in the discs either as they are 5x120 already
ive welded some rings onto the shafts, as a spigot ring to help locate the wheel, and also it will take some stress off the wheel studs hopefully, as its a 9 1/2 x 17 rim we will be running  we still need to get the ends welded on the axle tube, but finding it hard to get some tube/hollow bar to get the two to marry up, and then we can get the shafts cut to length and resplined 8)
more soon

You're getting there then Paul, I did think of your tube when I went to my engineer mates recently, he had a look and but nothing that big and he says its a weird size and you will have trouble finding it and maybe insert plugs of steel like fingers all round and weld over?

So I'm back on this yesterday, halfshafts came backfrom engineers, just need to to get ends resplined to atlas spec, but need to get axle ends done first, managed to find a big enough chunk of steel to marry up the square tube ends to the round tube case, with the engineer now, had to bare metal the axle case again, as its gone rusty then decided to give it a squirt of epoxy primer

Ps the shitty square tube axle didn't last. I had to swop the axle off the van for my spare atlas, trouble now I'm running odd wheels

so my bits came back from my engineer, i now need to take some measurements off the van, and get my 91/2 x17 rims spot on in the arch between the inner and outer, as it is a very tight fit, my big chunk of steel is getting smaller, think most of it will end up in the engineers bin by the time were done

i think it was about £30, yeah a bit gutted that most of it will end up in the scrap bin, but if it gets the axle back together, then its all good.
bought another pair of new wheel bearings the other day, and managed to find a new pair of ford lock washer tabs, just need to find a new pair of hub nuts now.
more soon
cheers
