so over the years i've had 4 24v cosworth transits and a few other v6 transit, so its time to rase the bar, 3.5 v6 from an american f150 raptor (450HP 510LB/FT), i did have the engine/box and wiring, but had to sell the engine to rase some funds, so need to get another engine, but thats not difficult as i work in america half the year,
so the plan is, mk1 fire truck, mk8 twin wheel lsd axle, raptor v6 engine, the raptor gearbox is 4wd, so have got a 2wd 10 speed gearbox out of an 2wd f150, same gearbox as the raptor just 2wd, the 10 speed has flappy paddle as well, i have the loom out of a lincoln navigator as they use the same engine, but give me push button gear select, and the column has the flappy paddles, so i will probably use the navigator column so i have the flappy paddle, looking to do the mk3/4/5 front suspension swop to give me bigger brake options,
thinking 4 link rear end, with a notched chassis to get it a little lower, and also wondering if i could replace the factory lwb arch on the rear, with a modified escort bubble like supervan1, i think it would look nicer when lowered, the factory mk1/2 arches don't really look right when lowered.
mk8 wheels all round, and maybe a pair welded together for a nice big fat single tyre on the rear for when i need extra traction
the raptor v6 is a twin turbo 3.5 v6, with a remap and a couple of aftermarket turbos its an easy 600hp, that should make a mk1 fire truck a bit nippy, 24v cosworths made mk4/5 transits lively, so with double of triple the power, it should be a beast.
