To be fair Transit Aficionado, the local free press do publish the whereabouts of the Arrive Alive vans on a weekly basis, but of course, that is no help to visitors to the area... I am actually glad that I am driving relatively sedate light commercials "of a certain age" again. rather than a modern saloon, as cars, and modern vans are now so fast and quiet, you are over the limit before you realise it.... the old Convoy does 0 to 30 in about half an hour ...
Have to admit, that N Wales is a speeders nightmare, they will target an area with half a dozen traffic cars and a camera at a moments notice, then after a couple of hours, move to another location.... two sides to the coin, I live in a suburban street that is also a handy route for some folks to get to larger estates near us... Children live and play in the street, and the speed of some drivers through here beggars belief...
It is a bit like the bikers of the 50's and 60's, of which I was one... the idiot minority ruin it for the majority I am afraid.
We can't police ourselves,... you are probably a careful and sensible driver,... who probably likes to drive fast in the right circumstances,... but we can't do anything about the idiots who refuse to use their small brain capacity to assess when and where you can let er' rip.... so we are stuck with the police we have at the present time, I agree that they do use speeding as a source of revenue,... but isn't that a sign of the times... after all, as vehicles use less fuel, the government increase the duty to make our running costs the same... the less we use, the more it costs.
