Imports

Postby Terry » Wed Dec 21, 2005 8:37 am

When you say they will need to be imported !
There is no problem with that, as they come from
Germany, it will only cost you the shipping, there won't
be any duty/import charges/ agents fees,we are in the
E.E.C. as is Germany.
I got a little black book with me poems in

Any goods been imported will have VAT charged not at source of purchase but at the country of delivery ie UK, otherwise how does the tax get to the Inland revenue? .Trust me I deal with this on a day in day basis

I'm also looking for some alloy wheels for a FWD Mk6, so 15in wheels.
I have emailed Scarbourgh racing to ask them what they have, I like the look of the Enzo O. After seen the comment about them on here.

Scarborough can only do two types, the Vantec and the vantage, both are similar looking five spokes.

If you decide you want a set of Vantecs PM me cos I can get you a set of four for £300. (and anyone else that wants any!) :D

I can understand that with the USA, who has no contact with the UK taxwise, but don't we have a deal with the other EC countries?

Imports

Postby Terry » Wed Feb 22, 2006 10:34 pm

I agree entirely with Fred, if an item is imported from another EEC
country and VAT or the local equivalent has been paid.
Thats an end to it. A friend recently imported and we collected, a
caravan from Germany, if what you say is correct he is in for a
mighty big bill & why were we not stopped at Dover !

There may be some confusion over which countries are member
states.
Switzerland is the one everyone assumes is, but in reality is not.

There are several Transit Buffs over in Germany this guy known as "big_unknown" on Ebay travels across to the UK every couple of months buying all sorts of Transit spares including full vans. Tax receipts and the rest all documented. Spares over there apparentley cost a fortune to import so it's worth his while actually driving over in his own van with a 20ft trailer.

If they do fancy wheels over there he will be able to get them and deliver to your door if there are some spares around to collect???? He writes and speaks perfekt Englesk. If you have a problem with the link name pm me and I'll try this end.
