Duh! I am sooo Thick. Cobra seats and OMP wheel Mk5 PICS!!

Well I've just finished putting in my scrappy Cobra bucket drivers seat in my 190 Pickup to see how I get on with it.
Also cleaned the Cab and fitted my MK2 Capri Steering boss, quick release kit & steering wheel from my last Transit.

That's the cleaning done for now, as I'm gonna gut it later in early summer for a respray, so it'll do.

Also re-rivoted the gearstick sound insulation as I had the engine out previously.

I've been deliberating for the last 3 days about how I'm going to fit the passenger seat... then it came to me, the mount holes are the same for left hand / right hand drive so why not fit a left hand drive drivers seat mount and bolt the seat on to that, like I've done for my drivers seat....I'm not the sharpest tool in the box!!

I thought to myself....a Left hand drivers seat mount would finish it off really neat and be symmetrically opposite to the existing drivers side mount in terms of seat controls and seat belt etc.....so I would therefore need to get an imported left hand drive seat mount.......rare as you might think!!!

I could kick myself! Maybe my brain is frozen from the weather.

I had fitted a left hand drive seat mount to the Transit I sold before Xmas as I had taken it out of this transit as its an import (& Because the seat belt mount was wrong side!!) BUGGER!! :x I could've thought ahead and replaced it with one from the scrappy and saved it, but the rush to sell before Xmas meant I didn't have the time or really thought about it!

So what do you people reckon...should I call the bloke I sold it to and offer to replace it on the spot in half an hour for one and give him a tenner for the inconvenience??? Do you reckon he'd be hassled with it? Should I really bother the poor bloke? Would you be putting up with this from a seller if you'd just bought a workhorse 3 months ago?

Anyways heres some PICS for u all!! (Its a bolted down work horse mockup so it looks rough, I'II detail it later and I'II be reupholstering the seats in Red Leather & alcantara!!. The white transit with the experimental dash is the one I sold... You learn a lot from trying and making previous mistakes!! ). Believe it or not that steering wheel used to be bright blue suede when new...now its like green leather!!

Also decided to use a 24V Sierra flywheel and gearbox for convenience and availability for my 24V cossy conversion, so won't need an adaptor plate for this one! Haven't decided what route to go with my other one, although it'll be heavier so a SVO transit flywheel might be an idea. It will also allow me to fit a centre console. Gearstick is way too far forward in a transit anyway, does my back in changing gears.

NB: Theres a T5 Tremec/Borg Warner Bellhousing for a 24V Cossy on Ebay...£340!!   Might be of some use to somebody who might be chewing up MT75's with a turbo'd 24V?

Right, I'm off to collect me minidigger for tommorrow...after a cup of tea!

I kinda like it that way. Rally car wheels are pretty close to the driver too and high up as well as the seats are closer to the floorpan. Find it easier to control and more responsive like this, is a bit tiring on longer journeys & I grant u that but feels like a car t drive!!

Tell u what though, those FIA seats!! my arse is so sore man after only 12 miles...feels like I've been violated man!!
