would this give you more power. It's a RS 2000 four branch. I've been looking at it myself a while now for my 2.0 dohc. I think it will be an easy fit (cut and weld) , leave the Cat out for 5 more horse, K & N filters. But if the same applies to the Scorpio it's got a heavy flywheel and more suited to cruising. I try not to rant and race mine but can't help myself sometimes

Take a look at my now old website on tuning the zetec motor, hundreds of pounds wasted, let me save you the trouble! http://www.thematrix.f9.co.uk/zetec.htm

Just to ask, I did'nt think the 2.0 dohc 8 valve l4 was zetec? I agree it's hardly worth the effort and cost to tune this motor, but it's possible afterall it's the direct descendant from the RS2000. and in the Transit is running the same ECU sefi as the 16 valver, which probably the RS2000 ecu would plug and play.I had the Cat off mine but put it back on for the same reason as you, that Tinny Roar!

the zetec would bolt straight in onto the gearbox but you would have to make up mounts, the I4 and the zetec are totally different engines, the engine in the van would be taken from a sierra or a granada as they are inline mounted, where as the rs2000 and gallaxy are transversely mounted.

Had another look at my Van and the RS four branch would be a bugger to fit as it drops down directly above the engine mount and with so much cutting and welded needed would be better to start from scratch. The manifold plate is all that could be used :(
When I got my Van the EGR had been removed I believe this also gives a small powergain.

should do, if not get a 2.3 16v out of a granada, its the same engine, the granada engine will be cheaper, should be able to get complete car for £100 or so, then weigh it in after and get most money back

Got 2 off 2.3 Scorpio (Granada) engines, unfortunately still in the respective cars. One hasn't been run for about a year the other is started & run just about every week (also reputed to have 40,000 on it - recon from Ford- when purchased 30,000 ago, both have auto boxes on the back of 'em. If anybody wants one (or both) they will have to take the cars too (one-un-run- has cloth interior & stinks it..... was a dog-carrier) [my spares car],t'other is an 'R' reg silver Ultima ,heater matrix gone & refuses to get 2nd gear, both estates.
I got a little black book with me poems in

Hi Bj
The green estate is a non runner, had the dash out, front bumper is broken, rear bumper is gone, another Scorpio friend wants the front wishbones.P.S pump & alternator gone.

Nothing missing off the silver one ( except headlamp washer 'tops'. They are both on SORN & would need to be trailered away. Green estate is in Fleet ,Hants, silver estate in Sunbury (London end of M3)
I would be glad to see the back of them .......make me an offer ......will be better than the earache
