Postby stevejoe » Wed May 26, 2010 9:52 pm

Just about to fit engine and gear box. Its mt75 box on to v6 cosworth engine. It's all bolted up and just wondered if i have to alter the bolk head or does the engine clear on both sides? Thanks, Steve.

depends on the mounts are they propper transit 2.9v6 ones or home made??

either way only slight mods to the bulkhead would be necessary :D

doing this van 2 years, now everything is rust free, everthing under the van has been powder coated. Its done 40,000 miles from new and its a semi-high top short wheel base with the big axels, electric windows, heated screen, heated electric mirrors, its absolutely mint inside. p reg cant wate 2 get it running

post up some pics mabe start a thread in progress report section  van sounds nice 8)

the problem with using the ally mounts is you wont get it in the exact position, itn the transit the engine is offset towards the drivers side in line with the back axle using the granny mounts will put it bang in the centre of the engine bay like it it in the granada - it does make it better for clearance issues with the servo tho :D

i personally prefer the correct ones but they are had to find - ive made a few pairs in the past and i do them offset - but there are plenty of vans running round with no problems with a centred engine - just depends how fussy you are i guess
