Postby glenandemm » Sun Jul 09, 2006 6:30 pm

does anyone know if its been done and how easy,i need a diesel to do taxi'in in and fancy one of these engines out of a mk6 to go in my smiley minibus or a turbo di out of a mk5 with different pump so i dont have to swap all the electrics, either way i need an engine that pulls better than my 2.5 di,it doesnt like hills especially with 15 people in,already done pump mods, any advice would be great, cheers

There's roomers that somebody has put a duratorque engine in their smiley but I'm yet to see if this is true :(

A turbo engine is a good idea as you know it'll be a perfect fit and you can use the '98 to 2000 Bosch pump and (if it doesn't already have) the 'blue' 100PS injectors :D
That should make it go :D without too many electrical involvements :D

You could even try and turbo your current engine  There is mixed views on this as the compression ratio is slightly higher and could stress the old unit a bit :( But you've nothing to lose if the 'new' engine is on standby :?: :D

If you go down the electrical road and transfer all the electronics with the 100PS engine (not really advisable  )You can buy a chip that'll up the output to 130PS  That'll make those wheels spin

well there isnt much in difference of compression it has been ddone before also you will need the correct injecters to give more fuelling
You only need two tools in life: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape.
