extra or long run fuel tank ?

Postby knighty1981 » Fri Aug 06, 2010 1:21 am

I want to add an extra fuel tank to my transit (and one for the cough*springer*cough) so I can duel fuel with diesel in the normal tank and veg oil on the second tank....

anyone here had a fuel tank made to go under a van ?

I can't find a standard off the shelf tank that will fit, and most of the custom tank places I've seen advertising start at £700+ which is a bit much....

so can anyone recommend somewhere that is good with this kind of thing ? preferably in the north east ?

I don;t care what it's made out of, plastic, fibreglass, mild steel etc...
(just as long as it has baffles in it!)

im assuming its a mk6 - this is just an idea and im not sure if its possible or from memory if the exhaust is in the way but if you look under the driverside where the fuel cap is on the passenger you'll see its set up for a filler neck and all you would do is some how have a fuel cap then get the lhd tank and bolt it in side by side to the other then bobs your uncle.

Mk6 LHD fuel fuel cap is on the same side as RHD.
