Sliding door window?

Postby RedOrZed » Sat Mar 05, 2011 8:50 pm

Hi all. A mate of mine has a MK5 semi-hi, and is looking to fit a window into the sliding door. As the owner of a jig saw and a hammer I get to assist in this, so I'm asking for some advice.

He's got some large sheets of thickish smoked perspex. Is it simply a case of sawing out the hole, cutting the perspex to suit and bolting it together with a bit of rubber between the door and the window?

Cheers for any ideas.

 I wasn't impressed with the idea either, and drilling holes in perspex is generally a nightmare!

But if we buy the rubber from Ford and cut to the exact size of a standard window, that should be OK?

Or just advertise on here for a complete door? They can't be that hard to swap?

Your opinion is quite welcome, no offense taken :D I'll send him down the local breakers yard over the next couple of weeks to have a look & a measure. 8)
