**How do You Lower a MK5****

Getting Vertigo riding around in my MK5 120 ex BT van I want to lower it apart from sticking a ton of weight in the back how do you lower a MK5? I guess you can chop the front springs but how about the back leaf springs........

I've done the front by just cutting off a bit of the springs with an angle grinder. This method costs nothing but does stiffen up the action a little. Rears are a bit of a headache and not so simple. I would suggest you go to a spring specialist and have them reshape your leaf springs to achieve the amount of drop you want. This won't alter the spring rate but will give you the look. The specialist may have a better method of dealing with the front coils than just cutting a bit off.

Thanks for your reply i have been doing a bit of reaerch and there was a thread by Twink he moved the spring brackets from the top to the bottom of the axle giving a impressive drop Im looking into changing the rear diff ratio so might look for a rear axle with rhe right Ratio then get the brackets moved

Why don't you fit a pair of (knackard) Transit 80 springs on the back

starting to wonder if airbags on the rear is the way to go air bags and no leaf springs
