Hi all on here ,iam new to the forum ,currently a member of other motor related forums for my other toys, just starting a new project ,and wanted to share this with other transit owners .
And probably look forward to help and advise, and i will share my experiance of my project.
I know this is an area of love and hate with what iam doing.
have a 2005 mk6 , mean looking factory black, begging to be a trendy looking transit , with no engine and gear box , i have today just about got everything off, from the t reg doner transit that i need,so if any one needs any bits and bobs let me know b4 i scrap her,
i have the 2.5 turbo 94,000 genuine mile engine and box sitting on the garage floor ,tommorow i will set about removing the lucas epic pump ,and puting on the bosch 146 and pipework, iam reading it is correct to with the pump locking pin in ,set the timing with the bolts to the left to advance the timing ,and remove the alloy cap and turn the mid range fueling up by 10 per cent ,with a new cam belt followed by the new clutch as she slipped away driving the breaker home.
I thinking ahead that i will use the existing hydraulic system to move the clutch arm with a slave and make a bracket up to mount this ,also have a universal throttle pedal,.
looking at the power steering the old mk 5 has two pipes going to the rack one from pump and one from resevoir, but the mk 6 rack has just one pipe by the looks of things ,has anyone got any idears on this how best to set this up ?
